Fukuoka-ken is located in the north side of Kyushu, and will be the arrival point for
most visitors to Kyushu whether they cross over by the Kanmon-kyo Bridge, or
the tunnel at the Kanmon strait in Kitakyushu-city, or fly into Fukuoka airport
in Fukuoka-city.
Fukuoka-ken was the first place to touch the continental culture in Japan.
Ever since the Government-General of Kyushu was set up in the place known
as Dazaifu in the 7th century, Fukuoka has grown as the hub of the Kyushu region,
and features famous sights with historic and cultural.
Fukuoka-ken is also a perfect place for sightseeing and hiking, because of the rich
in nature where it is not surrounded by the sea, but is also located near
beautiful mountains.
