Mt. Aso, symbolizing Kumamoto, the “Land of Fire” is a national park
with vast grassland including Kusaseiri-ga-hama, lakes, forests and
hot springs at its base.
And also the following beautiful scenery can be offered;
・In April, Isshingyo big cherry provides one of the most
beautiful cherry blossoms in Kyushu.
・In May to June, Sensui-kyo ravine is dyed pink by more
than 50,000 shares of azaleas
Aso is the general name for five volcanic peaks, each well over
1000m in altitude, of which Nakadake is active with raising smoke.
There is also a historical attraction, Aso Shrine that is one of the
oldest shrines in Japan.
