Kagoshima is located at the southern extremity of Kyushu.
Sakura-jima, an active volcano with a rising column of smoke, floating in
Kagoshima Bay, is the mountain symbol in Kagoshima-city. Kagoshima-city was a castle town where the historical spots remain
such as Sengan-en and Shro-yama.
Chiran is called a small Kyoto in Kagoshima, and offers you fine collection
of Samurai houses and gardens that were built about 260 years ago.
Kirishima is famous for Kirishima Shrine which is an Important Cultural Property. Ibusuki is a hot spring resort representing Kyushu, and is located along the
sea at the southernmost end of the Satsuma peninsula.
