  Hikosan Shrine is located at Mount Hiko is a sacred mountain with an elevation of about 1,200m, consisting of three peaks. It has been worshipped as a sacred mountain since ancient times. In the center of the mountain is the Hikosan Shrine building, a nationally designated important cultural property. The approach path to the Shrine is approximately 900m from the torii gate, with 410 steps. To get to the Shrine, using the slope car is recommended that runs parallel to the approach path to the shrine. On your way back, enjoy the traditional Japanese scenery as walk along the approach path.

A road dedicated to bicycle run along the Genkai Sea from Okagaki Tourism Association to Ashiya, the distance is 7.5 km. Beautiful scenery of Genkai Sea can be enjoyed.   Mount Hiko is a sacred mountain with an elevation of about 1,200m, consisting of three peaks, located on the border between Soeda, Tagawa, Fukuoka-prefecture and Nakatsu, Oita-prefecture. It has been worshipped as a sacred mountain since ancient times. In the center of the mountain is the Hikosan Shrine building, a nationally designated important cultural property, and many people visit the mountain in autumn, especially as it is a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves. There are several trekking courses from 3 hours to 6 hours courses.

As of 2024, its official name is “Phoenix Seagaia Resort.” The name is a combination of “Sea,” meaning the ocean, and “Gaia,” meaning the earth. It is home to the prestigious golf course “Phoenix Country Club” and Tom Watson Golf Course.  There is Sherton Grande Ocean Resort which is a luxury Hotel of 154-meter tower standing within a huge pine forest.

  Beautiful and exciting Shine. Udo Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the cave of the cliff side facing the Pacific Ocean. It is located about 35 km south of Miyazaki city. In legend, a goddess of sea built a hut to give birth to a great god here. Then it is said that Empress Suiko (554-628) built the shrine there. The priest of Tendai Buddhism built a Buddhist temple in 782, on the order of Emperor Kanmu. In the middle ages, this area had been the training place for mountain priests because of the steep rocky cliffs.

  Spectacle art collection of exposed Rocks created by raging wave. Hyuga is a bay city, facing the Hyuga nada Sea. The whole area along Cape Hyuga- misaki with its many exposed rocks is designated as the Nippo-Kaigan Quasi-National Park.  Umagase at the top of Cape Hyuga-misaki is a precipitous cliff of pillar-like rock, towering as high as 70m.

  The site is located at Shibasaki district next to Tatsumaki-Jigoku. The literal meaning of chinoike is blood-coloured pond. The clay is steaming hot point that the steam is red. Japan’s oldest natural Jigoku as written about in the Bungo Topography described as Akayusen, a reddish hot spring.
