Nakasu
One of the largest entertainment districts in western Japan, it bustles
at night with young people and businesspeople. Around 2,000 eating
and drinking establishments, including yatai (food stalls), are crammed
into this area, and neon lights reflect alluringly on the Nakagawa River.
Yatai are a specialty of Fukuoka, attracting people with a variety of dishes
including ramen, oden (hot pot dish), yakitori (grilled chicken), tempura
(deep-fried seafood and vegetables), and gyoza (pan-fried dumplings).
It is said that there are about 100 yatai, mainly in Nakasu and Tenjin.
You can enjoy the nightlife, take a walk by the river, or take a cruise on
a pleasure boat.
