Aso
journey. Based in Fukuoka, we are a dedicated travel agency specializing exclusively
in the Kyushu region.
Situated in the heart of Kyushu, Aso boasts one of the world’s largest calderas, spanning
18 km east-to-west and 24 km north-to-south. Formed by four massive prehistoric eruptions,
this vast crater is encircled by an outer rim with a circumference of 120 km. At its center
lie the ‘Five Peaks of Aso,’ including the active Mt. Nakadake, where visitors can peer into
the powerful, steaming crater from the summit.
