Munakata Shrine Nakatsu-gu

  The Shrine is part of the World Heritage that the Sacred Island Okinoshiam and Associated site  in the Munakata Region has been registered on the World Heritage in 2016.   Kawachi Wisteria Garden is a private garden at the Mountain foot of Sarakura in Kitakyushu City and famous for its spectacularly  presented, large numbers of wisteria flowers. The garden is opened to the public seasonally during the wisteria season which usually peaks around late April to middle of May.     The garden’s most prominent features are two, roughly 100 meter long tunnels made of wisteria trees of differing varieties and colors, ranging from white to dark purple.

Tachiarai Peace Memorial Museum

  The main exhibit room displays a few letters and other items of kamikaze pilots who died in battle. One case has photos of about 50 kamikaze pilots from Tachiarai Air Base and includes the following information on each pilot: name, unit, plane used, date of death, and air base of final sortie.     The museum does not give any historical summary of the kamikaze operations but rather focuses on the stories of the pilots stationed at Tachiarai Air Base.

  Yame is a rural tranquil region of Japanese tea cultivation and the traditional crafts manufacturing and is located in the southern part of Mino mountain range. Yame grew in size after the merger with Kurogi town,Tachibana town,Yabe village and Hoshino village in 2010.     Yame Traditional Craft Museum Yame is the Centre of Japanese artificial crafts. The Museum was built in 1986 with the purpose of gathering traditional craft items together and transferring traditional techniques and development of local industry.   Yame Fukushima White-walled townscape. The Fukushima area is designated as an important traditional buildings preservation area by the Japanese government. Miyajidake Shrine

  The Shimenawa is the biggest in Japan. Surprisingly, weight is 3ton, with 2.6m diameter and 11m length. Shimenawa is the thick, twisted, straw rope. It was believed in ancient days that a Shimenawa had the power to keep off evil sprits, so many objects connected with Shinto Shrines decorated with Shimenawa.   Miyajidake Shrine is primarily dedicated to Empress Jingu and attracts over 2 million worshippers a year who pray for commercial success, good luck, and to ward off adversity.

Shinbaru-Nuyama Mounded Tombs

  The site has been registered on the UNESCO World Heritage as the Sacred Island Okinoshiam and Associated site in the Munakata Region    The Tomb Group in Fukutsu City comprises the tombs of the Munakata clan, an ancient powerful family that led interactions with overseas countries.
